About

Born and raised in Connecticut into a musical family, my professional career began at age 16 when I played saxophone in an 80's style horn band. My performance career spans pop, horn and swing style jazz bands, orchestral stages, musical theater pits, churches, restaurants, coffeehouses, bookstores, as well as private and special occasion events.

After high school, I went to Philadelphia where I would study clarinet with the late great Ronald Reuben of the Philadelphia Orchestra and learn music at the Neupauer Conservatory of Music. In 1987, I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Clarinet Performance from Rowan University under the direction of the late Dr. Benjamin C. Christy. In addition to woodwind specialization, I learned guitar and began singing, songwriting and performing as a soloist.

In 1991, I attained a Master of Science Degree in Music Education from the University of Bridgeport.

When I'm not performing or leading worship, I'm teaching. I have taught in public, private and religious schools from kindergarten to the university.

In 2006 my family relocated to Arizona. Shortly after we settled, I was invited to play clarinet in the Scottsdale Symphony. I also found work in several churches as an instrumentalist and worship leader. While playing guitar and singing in area restaurants, I founded an Acoustic Americana band and called it Right Side Out. We performed original and cover songs across the Valley and at state folk festivals.

Most Recently I played flute and clarinet with the Mountain View Fiddlers under the direction of Peter "Doc" Rolland. Currently, I am a member of the Chandler Clarinet Consort and Parallel Seconds.

I offer private instruction on clarinet flute and saxophone at every level and piano at the beginner level.

Lessons can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on skill level and goals. Small group lessons on guitar and music theory are also available.
